FEATURED ARTIST
David Berger
Over the past decade, David has exhibited his own work in Sumi painting, winning a number of awards. Galleries in Seattle where he has shown include: KOBO, Asian Pacific Cultural Center, Kirsten Gallery, Columbia City Gallery, Gilmartin Gallery and Dahlia Gallery. In Tacoma, he has shown at the American Art Gallery, Handforth Gallery, and Tacoma Nature Center.
Primarily a printmaker today, Pam has also been a calligrapher for 40 years. Her study of lettering has provided a strong foundation for her ongoing examination of mark making as both form and carrier of meaning. In 2004, Pam began incorporating gestural marks into her studio work in printmaking.
The Tumar Art Group is a women-run business, established in 1999, uniting a group of artisans and craftsmen in Kyrgyzstan. The artists redefine traditional materials and techniques, applying modern designs for the contemporary world.
"My hope is that my pieces will provide enjoyment, color and interest to a space and others will appreciate them as much as I enjoy making them." - Jacqueline
"I am passionate about living on an island where harbors abound and there is constant reflection of light off of the water. I see beautiful images daily and I hope that you too will enjoy having a piece of this beautiful island in your home." - Pam
SpeakeasyJazzCats.com You knock on the green thick wooden door in the alley. The street lamp flickers on and off. A small panel in the door slides back and a pair of eyes appear accompanied by a hushed voice: "Do you have the password?". "Jazzcats" you reply and the door swings open. As you stroll into the smoky speakeasy, the tawdry light of the chandelier illuminates the glamorous late night socialites dancing, flirting and drinking sazeracs, absinthe and gin, as giddy wisps of clarinet cry and the trombone moans and the rhythm, that rhythm and rasping voice carries you on a red haze transporting you from trouble and strife. It's the Speakeasy Jazz Cats and they are red hot tonight!
